The Embassy reached out to Mr. John who mentioned that he intends to return to India due excessive workload and non-payment of salary on time. The Embassy official later contacted his sponsor's representative Mr. Ashraf to explore amicable resolution of the mater. Mr. Ashraf informed that Mr. John is refusing to work and causing problems and he demanded OMR 400/- to cover visa and recruitment expenses. However, Mr. John agreed to pay OMR 200/- only towards the visa costs. The employer has agreed to this offer. Mr. John stated that he will arrange the funds to settle the matter and will keep the Embassy informed. The Embassy also offered Mr. John accommodation and meals but he has made his own arrangements. |

1. The Embassy has taken cognizance of the matter and contacted Khawla Hospital (a Government hospital) to ascertain the well-being of the patient and the current status of the case. Officials of Khawla Hospital have informed that Mr. Suji Francis has fully recovered and is fit for discharge and travel. As per the provisions of the local labour law, the sponsor/employer is responsible for bearing the medical expenses of employee. Accordingly, the hospital is making efforts to contact Mr. Suji’s employer to arrange the discharge from the hospital and facilitate his travel back to India.
