The lawyer informed the applicant that the case file, along with all relevant documents including the judgment and power of attorney, had been returned to the Embassy in 2024. The lawyer further stated that the matter had previously been filed and dismissed in Salalah on grounds of limitation, a fact not known at the time of filing the case before the Amirath Primary Court (Case No. 31/1208/2022), which had initially issued a judgment in favor of the plaintiffs awarding OMR 15,000 as blood money and OMR 100 towards costs. However, upon appeal by Dhofar Insurance, the Muscat Appeal Court set aside the judgment after noting that the matter had already been adjudicated in Salalah and attained finality (res judicata), thereby declaring the case inadmissible. The lawyer added that the case was pursued in good faith as per Embassy instructions, incurring expenses towards court fees, power of attorney attestation, and translation totaling OMR 150, which remain unrecovered, and requested settlement of the same while seeking further guidance from the Embassy.
