Embassy contacted Ms. Baldish Kaur who informed that she has been in Oman for 3 years. She is on employment visa and has been working with current sponsor for one year. As per Ms. Baldish Kaur her visa is expiring in July 2026. However, Ms. Baldish is not willing to work and wants to go back to India as she is having health issues (kidney stone). She requested Embassy assistance for her repatriation.

We tried contacting her sponsor on the number provided in the email however, it is not reachable. She has been informed about this matter and she told she will get another number for us.

Attache(ETC) Spoke with Ms. Sadaf, Archivist on 29.06.2025 and asked her about the action plan of NAI for further collaboration between NAI and NRAA, as per EPC signed between the two authorities. She mentiond that the visit programme is yet to be finalized, as Shri Arun Singhal, former DG NAI has retired in April 2025. The new DG, Shri Samar Nanda, who is currently serving as JS in the Ministry of Culture, has recently taken the charge. As soon as the programme receives the necessary approvals, they will share the final details with the Mission. She also shared the letter of invitation (dated 19.03.2025) sent by NRAA to NAI inviting DG and his team to foster closer cooperation, facilitate the exchange of expertise, and explore opportunities for more joint initiatives.

Ms. Sharma informed that the file is pending with Accounts Section of ICCR as revised FCA calculation is being done, therefore, approval of DG will be obtained (DG is on leave till 07 July 2025).

We contacted sponsor who informed that he filed absconding complaint against her with Ministry of Labour. After a week days absconding notice will be confirmed. Sponsor also informed that she left work place after receiving her salary. We will register her in Amnesty Grace period once the absconding complaint is confirmed so that she could travel.

She came to Oman on tourist visa which was later converted into work visa. She has worked only for 4 months and wants to return back to India due to health issues. The Embassy has also contacted to the sponsor, he informed that she is working with him only for 4 months and he will take up the matter for her repatriation with the agent (Ms. Mary) who is currently in India. Since, Ms. Durga has not completed contract period of two years, agent has to provide a replacement or refund the recruitment expenses. The Embassy will follow up the matter.
