The Embassy of India has taken cognizance of the matter and has approached the Foreign Ministry, Sultanate of Oman, to ascertain the official details surrounding his detention. As per informal inputs received, it is understood that Mr. Guruprasath has been detained on charges related to the possession or carriage of drugs.
 
Mr. Venkateswarlu Burri was issued an Express Visa by his former sponsor, Composite Pipes Industry LLC, before the expiry of his previous visa and his formal exit from Oman. Late Mr. Kollamparampu Narayanan Gopi passed away on 09.07.2025 in Sur, Oman. Currently the mortal remains are at ROP Hospital, Muscat. The Embassy contacted the family of the deceased and advised to send the requisite documents (specimen shared via whatsApp) for airlifting the mortal remains. 
Sponsor is ready to repatriate Ms. Fousiya however, he is not ready to provide air ticket for her travel. He will be handing over passport to Embassy by next week. Housemaid is ready to arrange ticket.
